in-home potty training

a hands-on potty training coaching experience

Potty Training is tough! What is oftentimes understood to be a natural process that “just happens” isn’t always the case. Google and Instagram have “solutions” but are they right for your family and specific struggles?

Kiddish’s in-home potty training model considers where the client is at— emotionally and developmentally, to formulate a potty training plan that plays on familial strengths to achieve toilet learning completion.

Our potty training models emphasize gentle guidance, childhood independence, clear communication and expectations to create a potty training experience that is not only easy to follow, but creates a safe learning environment for both parent and child— encouraging connection and understanding.

How this package works

The in-person package begins with a phone call. Together, we’ll explore your potty training history, worries, and goals. From here, clients fill out an intake questionnaire with in-depth questions about their daily life and school environment. Using this, a potty training plan is developed that will easily fold your child back into “normal” life after the training days are completed.

The in-person days themselves guide you through sequential blocks of learning, building potty skills as we move through. Initially, we stay close to home starting from the beginning for first time trainees, or starting from where the child seems stuck. From there, we increasingly introduce challenges, preparing you all for sending your child back to school, being in public spaces, and moving through airports,

what parents are saying

  • We loved how Cara was a gentle leader to us and our twin sons. during the potty training process. she listened to our concerns and addressed them with a concise plan, complete with homework and check-ins after our sessions were over.

    Jennifer, Alameda

  • after three previous potty training attempts with our daughter, we felt we needed someone to come in with experience, and an easy plan to follow. Cara gave us the direction we needed as well as a source of fun thorought the process.

    Mya, San Rafael

  • Our daughter really took to Cara. the day was easier than we expected, potty training was the undertone but it mostly felt like a nice day spent at home with the family.

FAQs

How much does in-home potty training cost?

The in-home service package is $1,250. This includes 8 hours of in-home hands-on coaching, written plans that discuss continuance and future goals, and additional on-demand remote support. Within the extended remote support portion, we communicate daily via spreadsheets and texts, and have at least one weekly check in-call.

What if my child is shy?

No prob! I fully believe in respecting children’s space, and do not force my presence upon them. Once we all have a chance to get acquainted, and I mention how I also think Daniel Tiger rocks, a bond usually starts to form.

What if the potty training process isn’t complete when the service is over?

All in-person packages include additional remote coaching. if the remainder of training can be addressed remotely, we will do so. If it cannot, we will restructure our hours together to be of shorter duration over the course of more days so I can see you guys through to completion.

How much are parents required to be involved?

A lot! There must be a caregiver present at all times. This service is primarily to coach the adult through the process, since they will ultimately be the ones responsible for carrying out the tools we implement. In the beginning of the service i do take the lead and demonstrate the language and methods for teaching the child. After initial demonstrations, I phase out as parents take the lead more and more. Some couples are both present the whole day, some switch in and out.

Do we have to book 3 days?

3 days of In-home potty training is not required to receive help in person, though it is the recommended duration so we can work through as much as possible together.

Any amount of days can be arranged, and the package cost will be adjusted accordingly.

are there any guarantees?

Unfortunately, due to the unreliability of human learning, I can’t guarantee this service will 100% work for you.

I try my best to set realistic expectations as we move through the process, and set goals that I know we can achieve. 70% of families see potty training completion within our in person days together, 97% see it within our month of additional remote support.

Potty train confidently, knowing an expert is in your corner (literally).

  • The recommended in-person package is 3 days of in-person potty training coaching for $3,750.

This package can instead be split into a daily package of $1,250.

    Payment plans are available.

  • Each day consists of 8 hours of potty training, with the expectation for the tools and methods to be continued for the remainder of the day after Cara leaves.
